NSW CAG is working in partnership with the Mental Health Coordinating Council (MHCC) to create a resource to guide mental health workers within non-government, community organisations in NSW. The resource will be used to assist workers in delivering recovery oriented services.
WE NEED TO HEAR WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY
We hear that recovery from mental illness is different for everyone. Recovery to you might mean being able to live a meaningful life, being symptom free, having hope for the future, being able to participate in the community, having good relationships, having a positive identity, making life adjustments, understanding your illness, knowing what things keep you well, and living with or without mental illness.
We also hear that a big part of a person's recovery is about the people that assist them in their recovery - mental health workers. We want to hear about your experiences and what you think about:
* What values, beliefs, attitudes and behaviours your worker needs to have to support you on your recovery journey
* What knowledge and skills your worker needs to have to support you on your recovery journey
* What kind of relationship with your worker supports your recovery journey
If you have any stories or experiences about how your worker has facilitated your recovery, or suggestions on how you think workers could better delivery services that support your recovery - post your thoughts here!
